SYNOPSIS
The monumental "Scottsboro Boys" trial which took place in the 1930s was profoundly important in the evolution of the jury system in American law. It set many precedents, including the requirement of mixed-race juries. This film concerns that trial, in which 9 black men were accused of raping 2 women in the Deep South, as well as the personal trials faced by the lawyer as he struggled to achieve justice in the predominantly prejudiced culture. |
