Page Ostrow

Producer's Representative

Ostrow and Company was founded by veteran entertainment industry executive Page B. Ostrow who has arranged financing and or negotiated distribution for over 200 feature films and numerous documentaries working initially on behalf of numerous international distributors until 2000 when inspired by a vision to protect the interests of independent filmmakers, Page Ostrow shifted the company focus to representing films and projects on behalf of filmmakers and producers requiring distribution and financing. Ostrow’s background includes working under contract for Initial Entertainments Graham King distributor/producer of Oscar winning films such as ‘The Departed’, ‘The Aviator’ and ‘Blood Diamond’. These days, in order to find, negotiate track and collect on deals for independent filmmakers and producers Ostrow relies on her extensive relationships and the previous distribution expertise developed during the ten years she spent providing distributors with global sales support, licensing and pre-sales for their film projects and libraries to international buyers at all the film markets. As a result Page Ostrow maintains her contacts with key executives who have a shared vision toward launching quality films into the marketplace.

The Marketplace

In 2000, Ostrow recognized that there was something lacking in the marketplace in terms of negotiating, marketing and collecting on behalf of independent feature filmmakers, producers and writers, so she filled the gap by jumping fences to become one of Los Angeles’s leading producer’s representatives. Ostrow and Company has a reputation for taking risks on projects, creating ‘buzz’, igniting bidding wars and putting filmmakers on the map.

Producers Representative, Page Ostrow is supported by associates with a shared vision to deliver films to the marketplace that are thought provoking, compelling and entertaining. Films that inspire audiences to take action in life because of what they experience on the screen. Films that are compelling and entertaining. In addition to functioning as the producers’ representative Page Ostrow holds producing credits on films such as ‘Stolen Childhoods’ with Meryl Streep theatrically released in 2005. ‘Juvies’ documentary about kids behind bars in adult prisons (one of the kids sentences was reduced by 25 years as a result of the making of this film) narrated and executive produced by Mark Wahlberg for which Ostrow negotiated the world premiere on HBO, produced by Leslie Neal and John Densmore (The Doors), ‘O Tapes’ on Showtime, ‘Inside Iraq’ and ‘Make it Funky’ to be released theatrically by Sony Pictures. Additionally, Ostrow negotiated advances with distributors for feature films such as ‘Dating Games People Play’, ‘Surfer King’, 'Green River', Second Coming, Mattie Fresno, ‘The Bros’ with Lions Gate and American Drug Wars premiere on Showtime.

Originally Canadian, Ostrow began her career as an assistant director on many films for Orion, Alliance, Viacom, Simcom and H.B.O. After forming a Los Angeles based company in the Orion Pictures building, Ostrow eventually became an independent sales executive for over 25 International Distributors and represented buyers internationally until 2000. Ostrow currently deals with all the appropriate companies in addition to private equity groups on behalf of her filmmaking clients to get projects in development financed and or completed films placed with top international and domestic distributors, mini-majors and studios. At film markets and festivals, Ostrow earned a reputation as an excellent negotiator with film buyers and distributors via a combination of loyal contacts globally, overall business savvy and language skills, (English, French, Spanish, German and Yiddish).
